Crazy Chameleons!

I'll tell you my dirty little secret.

I have been reading this blog called Post secret for about a year and a half now. The link is http://postsecret.blogspot.com/and the premise behind the website is that people send in their secrets on the back of a website. I find it very therapeutic and entertaining to read all of the new secrets every Sunday. I have even considered sending in one of my own secrets one day. One day this summer maybe I will get around to it. Apparently my friend Sallie has already done this. I have not seen anyone that I think could even be hers but maybe it is better that way. Here is an example of one of the secrets found on the site.

Pretty cool idea huh? Tomorrow is Friday! My spanish class is cancelled, but I still have lots to do. I have to go to my honors advising (Taking some pretty hard classes next year), get my oil changed, and then go to my dad's office to work for a bit. And then Saturday it is to the art museum to see the impressionists exhibit! Maybe tomorrow I will post something that will be much more entertaining than this.

Oh yeah. What was your thoughts on Michael Sarver finally getting voted off American Idol? As long it is not my girl Lil!

You gotta take the good and the bad, the happy and the sad...

Today was a pretty good Tuesday! It was not too boring of a day, although there are certain limits to how riveting a Sociology 101 class can be. I also got 7 clues in the crossword puzzle today which is practically a new record. I am obviously much better suited to the math oriented puzzles.

Today I also did my first real official resume. It was kind of scary just because I was condensing all of my life into one small piece of paper, but I made it through. It was a pretty solid resume in my opinion too. And I also bought a delicious square of fudge for three dollars, and shared with some amigos.

The following is a video from a series that one of my friends reminded me of. Her name is Sam August in case you were wondering.

Fun video for a monday.

It is most definitely a Monday.

So in case your calendar didn't tell you it was a monday, all the other signs should have to you that it was! It was a rough one too.

Biology class wasn't that bad because it was just Mendelian genetics, but in Spanish I got an 89 on a quiz that I had studied really hard for. Then I realized that I forgot my lab googles, which are necessary to get a grade in Chem lab. So I had to run back to my dorm and then run back to CLS in order to make my lab, all in 15 minutes! And the lab was more awful, boring, and long than usual.

After that my day picked up though. I had a lunch outside because the weather was so awesome. And then I had a workout in which I probably burned 600 to 700 calories total! Woo hoo!

Anyways in order to brighten my day and yours I will tell you a funny story. I just have to think of it first... O.K. instead i will impart some college wisdom. I had to do the same thing in a survey that I took for a friend anyway.

1. Cooking easy mac is a lot harder than it looks, especially when there is not a mom around to help.
2. Rain coats and umbrellas are necessary. If you don't have one, you will have to borrow two or three hairdryers to get dry.
3. Keep your most valued food locked up in a secret place. People tend to eat it, especially if it is skittles.
4. Make sure that you call your mom at least once every three days. If not, she will get mad at you and not make you yummy treats when you get home.
5. The study room is for partying, the laundry room is for washing clothes and removing left clothes from full dryers, the hall is for studying, and the dorm room is for sleeping and keeping fish alive.

P.S. I am finally over the grades that I made last week and this week. When I said that I was over them before, I lied. But talking to a mom can change you mind about lots of things. Disappointment is one of them.

Really cool and fun video for a Thursday.

And they're gone so fast...

Just a little mmmbop for those who enjoy it. Today was a MUCH better day than yesterday. For breakfast I had a chocolate cream filled donut, which is my ultimate favorite of all time. And then for my Chemistry test, I got a 94 without extra credit added, which is not to shabby. And then in bio lab we dissected flowers and got to keep one too. Much better day. I have also finally moved on from my failure and looked to the future!

Funny story about moving furniture. So it was me, Bryan, and Philip moving furniture and Bryan told me and Phil to move a desk that was too much for us. So Phil had the bright idea to move the desk by himself by turning it on its side and dragging it down the hallway. The desk, after 3 feet, falls apart in the hallway of the office and I screamed, "You dummy idiot!" at Phil. 3o minutes later the desk is now held together with Gorilla glue and my boss could not tell a difference if he tried. But moral of the story, don't trust Phil's advice.

And p.s. who saw American Idol last night? Alexis Grace went home before Michael Sarver. How? Comments about this result please from the American Idol watchers. I cannot believe that there are only like 3 girls left this year! Lil Rounds is going to win anyways!

Today was the first time.

That I got a 70 on a major test, and it stinks that I got it in biology, which is detrimental to my medical school career. But I am trying not to let it get me down and to move on from it and do better next time. So in order to cheer things up, I am going to talk about happier things.

Today me and my friend Kayla went to Texas Roadhouse. It is a fact that they have the best hamburgers and rolls in Columbia, so that is why we went there. It was a good time to reconnect with friends and to vent out some things.

Then I lathered up in sunscreen (as not to burn) and went to the dock to read philosophy. It was just the kind of experience that I needed to get over that awful grade. Then I went to bible study and played in volleyball! It was pretty sweet.

A funny story to get you through the rest of the week. On Tuesday, my friend and I were walking to our next class. A truck drove by and made that loud creaking sound that they make and she was so scared by it that she screamed out loud. That scream was the scream heard round Russell house because she scared like 10 other people and other people started to look at her and point. As a result she had to enter the witness protection program and move to the country Djibouti to retain what is left of her dignity. Kidding, well at least about the Djibouti part.

It has been forever!

Since my last post! I was just so busy with work right before spring break and then spring break itself, that I forgot to blog for like 2 weeks. Well I am back!

So I guess that I will tell a little bit about spring break. First up on the list of things to do was Sumter. I was really apprehensive about the whole experience, but it turned out to be an amazing weekend! I was in the perfect house with the perfect group for a perfect weekend. I know that my kids definitely learned a lot from me and grew a whole bunch! Basically it was amazing. And we got amazing shirts too!

Next up was work. I worked everyday during the week, doing different things like cleaning an office, working in an office by moving furniture (funny story about that later), and putting out pine straw. Lots and lots of pine straw... But in the end it worked out because I made lots of money, to either buy a time capsule from apple or a t.v. for my room next year. Can't decide yet.

To end Spring Break, I went to the mountains with my college group. I got to see tons of friends that I have not seen in a while and had an amazing time. I learned a whole bunch about what worship means while having a blast, even though we got cabin fever from the rain. And Andrew Blitch popped his head open which livened things up a bit...

It was an awesome break and it was just what I needed. Look for more posts later after I finish my homework!

05 March 2009

I was born without a front tooth.

Or at least I am now missing a part of one. Tonight at dinner we talked about embarrassing moments/ traumatizing moments in history to liven up the dinner conversation. I told the story of the time when in the 3rd grade I ran into a pole and lost half of my right front tooth. It has been a real pain ever since. Can't use teeth whiteners except expensive dentist treatments and when I got my braces off, they also ripped off my fake part of my tooth!

Anyways, today has been a long day. I had a philosophy test, which I either killed or it killed me, and tomorrow I have a bio and span test! But after that it is off to Sumter for an amazing weekend, and an even better spring break! I have now resorted to thinking in Spanish to prepare for my test. Es muy facil pero yo necessito estudiar más. Tambíen necessito mirar American Idol y Grey's Anatomy porque está jueves!

Hoy fue un día muy bueno. Escuché a dos músicas nuevas! O.k. enough of that for those of you that don't speak Spanish.

Only one more day until the best week of my life, or at least a really good one. I go to Sumter, do some work for money during the week, get my hair cut, maybe take in some sun, possibly hang out with my cousin, and then the mountain retreat with college group! Don't we all need this break!?

A trip to the zoo in the rain...

Is surprisingly more fun than the idea would let on. Last friday was the last free friday february this year, so we decided to take advantage. Following are some pics and vids that document the journey.

How long has it been again?!

O.k. So I know that it has been a super long time since the last post but that is because I have been super busy. I am thinking that the originally planned topic for this post will have to be postponed till later next week though.

Funny story time. So last friday, bernadette and I were going to chick-fil-a in Russell House to get us some lunch. I got held up at the drink machine and then went to a different line than her. After looking at her line, I realized that it was moving a lot faster than mine so I decided to join it. At the same time I realized this, so did two other girls. It was a race to see who could get to the line first!

As I was approaching the prize, one of my fries fell out of the container, and being a good citizen I decided to pick it up, which gave the girls a lead. We ended up at the line at the exact same time. I was behind Bernadette and by the time we got to the register, somehow innocently I was in front of her.

Now Bernadette, being antsy, decided to call me a cutter. Not only did she tell me this, she screamed it out for all of the second floor to hear! So the man behind the register says, "Do we really have a cutter here?" And she said "Yeah! I caught him and lets punish him right now!" So he says "Back of the line cutter."

So I have to go to the back of the line because Bernadette is jealous of my dashing good looks. Its a tough life for me.
